Arkansas Outdoor Track and Field Meets Recap Week 2

April 7, 2003

Intemperate weather hampered performances this week as cold, windy weather swept the state and a fierce lightning storm caused a postponement of the Russellville Cyclone Relays on 4/4 which was to be the headline meet of the week for the Class 5A schools.

Sydney Scarborough (Fayetteville) once again stood out as she dominated the Siloam Springs Panther Invitational on 4/1 with wins in the HJ at 5' 6", the TJ at 34' 5", the 100m at 12.06 and the 200m at 25.03. Teammate Winter Gipson was 2nd in the 100m at 12.50. Crystal Kemp (Mansfield) won the 100m in 12.56 at the Paris Invitational on 4/1. Lindsey Lavender (Lonoke) cleared 5'6" in the HJ at the Dewitt Invitational.

Mychael Stewart (Bentonville) took double wins at the Siloam Springs Panther Invitational with a swift 10.75 clocking in the 100m and a 6'5" leap in the HJ. Stewart also won the TJ and 200m. Graham Patterson (Rogers) posted a 14.90 in the 110m hurdles while also winning the 300m hurdles. Charles Lebow (Ozark) sped to a 10.85 for 100m at the Collin Raye Relays in DeQueen on 4/1. Buke Mardanlou (Van Buren) tossed the shot 54' 6".
