HS marks in college meet
Mike McGrath 1:50.09
Joaquin Chapa 4:11.57
Galen Rupp 8:12.30
Tommy Skipper 17-0.75
Lincoln OR sr McGrath is now US#1 in DyeStat
Elite national rankings at both 800 meters and a mile. His
800 was faster than the listed HS record (1:50.55 Michael
Granville 1995) but will probably not be accepted as a record
because of the oversized UW track. With Shelton WA jr Alex
McClary at 1:52.15 and Bainbridge WA sr Tim
Freeman at 1:52.16, the race produced the first,
third, and fourth fastest 800's of the indoor season. Grant
Portland OR sr Chapa ran a US#2 mile behind
McGrath's 4:10.87 earlier this season. Central Catholic Portland
OR jr Rupp moved into US#1 in the 3000 meters.
(Grant OR sr Alec Wall 8:14.77 US#3 and Auburn
Riverside WA sr Carl Moe 8:30.07 US#4). Sandy
OR sr Skipper, US#1 indoors last year, opened
his 2003 campaign with US#2 for the season. South Eugene OR
