Webb runs "fitness time trial" at Landover
At Landover MD, at the Metro Run and Walk Holiday Invitational run
by Webb's coach Scott Raczko, new pro Alan Webb ran a 1000 meter
time trial with training partner and former South Lakes VA high
school teammate Richard Smith. Smith paced through 600 meters, and

for 1000 meters, just off Webb's US high school indoor record of
2:23.68 set in his senior year at South Lakes. Both Webb and Raczko
said they were satisfied with what Raczko called a "fitness
time trial." Wce the NCAA 1500 meters last June before he left
the University of Michigan and signed a professional contract with
Nike. Three indoor races at unannounced locations are on Webb's
winter schedule after 3 weeks of high atltitude training in New
