are again proud to announce

THE nike INDOOR CLASSIC

for the outstanding high school track and field athlete.

The meet will be administered by the NSSF, and conducted 
by the founders and creators of the National Scholastic Indoor 
and Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

WHERE Harry Gladstein Field House at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana (200 m flat track)
WHEN Saturday and Sunday, March 11-12, 2000
ELIGIBILITY Full-time students in grades 9-12 who are eligible for their high school team and/or any high school athlete born SEPTEMBER 1, 1980 or later, and who have met the entry standards, are eligible to compete. (NOTE: Exceptions may be made for athletes in lower grades.)
SANCTION This an open meet and is sanctioned by USATF and governed by USATF rules. It is NOT sanctioned by any high school federation as it is contested after the official high school indoor season in most states.

Directions  From North: Hwy 37 South from Indianapolis (exit 4 off I-465) to Bloomington. Exit at College Ave. Turn left at 2nd light (45/46 Bypass). Turn right at second light (Fee Ln). Turn right at first entrance into parking lot. Gladstein Fieldhouse is directly to the left; the Mellencamp Center is to the right.
From East: Route 46 West from Columbus, IN. Drive through Nashville, IN and continue into Bloomington where 46 West becomes 3rd Street. Turn right at 3rd light onto 45/46 Bypass heading north. At second light (Fee Ln), turn left. Continue as above to Gladstein Fieldhouse.
From West: I-70 East to 465 South to Exit 4 (Hwy 37). Follow directions From North, above.
From South: I-65 North from Louisiville to 46 West. Follow directions From East, above.

Airport 
Meet Management will provide a complimentary shuttle service leaving hourly from the Indianapolis Airport to the Bloomington hotels on Friday, March 10 beginning at 10am. Our buses will display the meet logo and will pick up passengers in the ground transportation area. The final bus will depart at 11pm. The service is on a "first-come first-served" basis. If a guaranteed reservation on a scheduled service is preferred, please 
contact Bloomington Shuttle (800-589-6004). The charge is $19 one-way and $32 round trip.  Complimentary return shuttles will be provided on Sunday March 12 direct from Gladstein Fieldhouse beginning at 2:30pm.
Register To take place entirely at the Indiana University's John Mellencamp Center, about 100 meters from the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse (there will no packet pickup at the hotel or track).
Friday March 10: 5pm -10pm 
Saturday March 11: 8am - 6pm 
Sunday March 12: 7am - noon
{Packets MUST be picked up 30 minutes prior to the start of the event}
Souvenir, Awards, Rings, All Americans Each participant will receive a meet souvenir and T-SHIRT. In order to receive this, athletes MUST participate in the competition, not merely enter. nike  INDOOR CLASSIC medals will be awarded to the top 6 in each event and each champion will receive a championship ring. The first six finishers in each event attending U.S. high schools will be named to the 2000 nike  INDOOR CLASSIC / American Track and Field Magazine All American Team and receive certificates.
Facility 6 lane 200 meter Rekortan track, 8 lanes on the straightaway. Any standard-sized spikes or flats permitted - NO hexagonal elements. All shoes will be checked. Acceptable spikes will be available for purchase at the meet. Fully automatic timing by FinishLynx. 
Rules USATF rules will apply. Protests must be filed in writing within 15 minutes of the results being announced and accompanied by a $35 cash deposit, refundable only if the protest is upheld. Athletes may wear a singlet of their choosing as long as it does not conflict with their state association's rules. USATF CARDS, VALID IN YEAR 2000, ARE REQUIRED. YOU MAY PURCHASE THEM AT YOUR LOCAL USATF OFFICE, OR AT MEET REGISTRATION.
Admission Entry to the facility will be by competion number, credential or ticket only. Tickets will be sold
at registration and at the track. Each team or individual will receive one coach's pass ONLY.
Admission: $10 Saturday, $15 Sunday. Children under 12 $5 per day (Two day passes will be for
sale). Competition numbers/credentials will be distributed at registration.
