Tale of the Tape - NIN Boys 4x800 Relay
Albemarle VA vs. Morris Hills NJ

Compiled by Laura Magee and Dave Devine

A feature in which we pit some of the top high school athletes in the country head-to-head over a series of topics that have little to do with track.

This week: As US#1 4x800 Albemarle VA and US#2 Morris Hills NJ prepare to vie for the NIN title, they go head-to-head here first.

How long has this relay team been running together? As a team, what is a pre-race ritual? What restaurant would you most likely visit the night before a race?
Short shorts or speedsuits?Do you socialize off the track? If so, what is a favorite activity?
Describe your team in five words or less.

ALBEMARLE VA

We raced our first race last year at indoor regionals. We definitely were not as fast as we are now, but that is the first time the four of us lined up on the track and raced together.

(Garrett Bradley,
Luke Noble,
Zach Vrhovac & Anthony Kostelac)

Before every race we like to always warm up together and talk about the race.  Then we stretch with each other.  Lastly, before the race is about to start, we get in a circle and pray.
Before big meets, we go to Zach's house for spaghetti, goofing around and some fun.

We like to wear spandex all the way!

We constantly hang out off the track and even out of school. At least one day every weekend we will sleep over at someone's house.  Our favorite activity is chasing squirrels and letting Anthony catch 'em.

Competitive, energetic, immature, outgoing,
and fun.

MORRIS HILLS NJ
