| Defending champ Jordan Hasay and German Fernandez head prep entries
Several Foot Locker Finalists and other top preps will battle the young collegians for spots on Team USA for the World XC Championships
Women's Race - Defending champ Jordan Hasay CA, having proven her injured foot is healthy and she's fit with last week's 9:23.90 3k, is the favorite. Other top preps include 2005 team member and 4-time Foot Locker Finalist Kauren Tarver CA, 2005 FL Finalist and 10:16 3200 runner Emily Reese GA, two-time FL Finalist Emilie Amaro FL, and 2007 FL Finalist Laurynne Chetelat CA head the prep entries - Doug Speck's Women's Preview
Men's Race - Tougher to make the team here, for preps, but FL Finalist/FL West Champ and CA state record setter German Fernandez looks to have the best chance. Also look for FL NE Champ Donn Cabral CT, two-time NTN top-3 finisher Ben Johnson NM, 2006 FL Finalist Griff Graves VA (9th here last year), and 2007 FL Finalists Jim Walmsley AZ, Kevin Williams CO, and Brett Walters CA. They will face tough comp in the likes of defending champ Elliott Heath, the Stanford frosh who won as a prep here last year, and U. of Virginia frosh Emil Heineking (top frosh finisher at NCAAs in 56th) - Doug Speck Men's Preview
