Is there an NTN Open Race this year? If so, when?
Yes, there will be an Open Race at NTN and it will take place on Saturday, December 1st at Portland Meadows.

How will spots into the Open race be allocated?
Spots into the open race will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis starting this Wednesday at midnight PST. You can reserve your spot by logging on to NikeTeamNationals.com.

Have race start times been established?
The exact start times have not been firmly established, but the races will take place before the NTN Championship races. Please take this into consideration when scheduling your travel itinerary.

Will the Kenyans be involved again?
Yes! The top high school boys and girls teams from Kenya have already qualified and accepted an invitation to compete in NTN 2007 and they will once again compete in the Open Race!

Who is eligible to compete in the Open race?
Club teams who have all seven runners attend the same high school!

Are there any official host hotels/airlines that offer discounted rates?
Although there are no official activities scheduled at any of the hotels, we will be providing a list shortly of hotels within a short drive of the race track that will offer discounted rates for the event. There is no official airline tied in with the event. You will be on your own to secure the best airfares.

How do we sign up for the race?
Once again, you can reserve your team spot by logging on at www.NikeTeamNationals.com starting at midnight PST on Wednesday, October 3. Spots will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and we are tentatively planning to accept 30 teams into each gender.

What is the fee?
The entry fee is $125 per team, per gender. Because of the anticipated very high demand, we will not accept "B" teams; only one team entry per gender.

What's included?
First off, the chance to compete against the Kenyans! If that's not enough, plenty of outstanding teams from around the country will also be involved. It's a GREAT way to finish up your cross-country season! There will also be a cool Nike souvenir for each and every competitor in the Open race and there will also be awards for top teams and top individual finishers! Of course, you'll also have a front-row seat to then watch the Nike Team Nationals races later that morning!

When will we know if our entry has been accepted?
You should be prepared to pay the $125 registration fee by credit card as soon as you sign your team up. However, a 48-hour grace period will be granted to pay the fee. Upon payment, you will receive confirmation of acceptance within 48 hours.

What are the chances of our team being accepted?
You have to be ready to sign up right away once registration enters this Sunday! Keep in mind that nearly 90% of the boys entry slots into last year's Open race were claimed in the first four hours after registration opened.

What if we sign up, pay the entry fee and buy our plane tickets... but then we end up qualifying for the NTN Championship later on down the line?
No problem! If your team qualfies for NTN, we will then arrange a reimbursement of your airfare and entry fee so long as the airline tickets were purchased at least three weeks in advance of the NTN Open Race date.
