Results - Boys Story by Pete Cava, Girls Story by Elliott Denman Jamesha Youngblood erased the old NIN TJ record of 41-8 1/2 set by Erica McLain of Plano, Texas in 2003 and in the process gave the United States - which has lagged in women's international triple jump competition in recent years - just what it needed: young blood. With her 42-0 hop-step-jump in round three, Youngblood climbed to the top of the NIN charts and then improved to 42-2 3/4 in round five. She had solid efforts in rounds one (41-5 1/4), four (41-10 1/2) and six (41-6 1/2), as well, in a superb series. Nike Outdoor National champion Arantxa King of Medford, Mass. took the silver at 40-11 3/4 with Sherice Walker of Burlington, NC third at 39-3 3/4. Boys Triple jump: Austin Davis (Durham, N.C.) popped a lifetime best on his final attempt, moving up from third place to overtake Devon Bond (Trenton, N.J.) for the victory. Davis's winning jump – 50-1.25 – is the nation's best indoor high school mark of 2007. Bond, who was second on the U.S. list, improved his PR to 48-7.25 from 48-6 – but it wasn't enough. Bond's mark also came in the final round. A 47-11 mark netted third place for sophomore Kelvin Griffin (Chesapeake, Va.).
