| | Danielle Tauro NJ tops Chanelle Price PA (left) in the HS girls mile, while Alan Webb finds victory again in the NB Games at the Armory. Tauro is definitely back from her dehydrated collapse at the finish of the Foot Locker Northeast regional in late November. The Southern Regional NJ senior, who was the national champion miler last year, led wire to wire with Shelby Greany and Chanelle Price close through quarter in 72.1 and half in 2:26.7. Price moved into second on lap 6, completed in 3:39.9, as the two gapped the field. Tauro pulled out strongly at the bell to win easily in 4:46.13. This is first of three straight big miles for Tauro, with Boston and Millrose yet to come. Tauro said she was "really nervous … a lot of anxiety” before the race because it would be her first really fast race since Foot Locker. She was conscious of Price’s US leading 800m speed at the end and said to herself, “Don’t let her pass you.” But it wasn’t close. Alan Webb, returning to the exact same race and exactly 6 years after running sub-4 3:59.86 in 2001 as a high school senior, won handily in 3:56. 70. Webb was in frant when the rabbit dropped out midway and held a small lead to the finish over Eliud Njubi of Kenya. It was a negative split for Webb with the half being run in 1:59. | Dalilah Muhammad sprints to a US#1 54.28 as she is victorious over the "Elite" field of older runners at the New Balance Indoor Games. Muhammad smiled nervously when introduced, but ran like a veteran when the race started. Drawing the favored lane 6, Muhammad came down the bank in second place and bided her time until the backstretch of the second lap when she moved in front with confidence.
