| 6th man wins it for American Fork American Fork UT (Caveman) and Albuquerque Academy NM were tied at 74 points after five runners, bringing the 6th man tiebreaker rule into play. Ashenafe Richardson won it for Caveman in 36th, nine places ahead of ABQ's sixth. The two teams ranked 1-2 in the Southwest in DyeStat regional rankings and 4th and 9th in the US in the ESPN RISE DyeStat Fab 50. Championship Boys
CO girls 1-2: Fort Collins 72, Classical Academy 83 Fort Collins avenged a regular season loss to Classical Academy (Titans XC) and reversed their order in DyeStat regional rankings. Classical was 4th and Fort Collins 11th in the US in the ESPN RISE DyeStat Fab 50. Championship Girls
Wade Meddles NV 15:08 wins easily Meddles was delayed by high winds at Reno airport all day Friday, but nothing delayed him today. He broke on top, went through 2 miles in 9:41 with an 18-second lead and was alone through the finish chute. Championship Boys
Eleanor Fulton CO 17:45 wins girls race Fulton opened a 5-second lead on local favorite Jessica Tonn after a mile in 5:30. She stretched that to 18 seconds after 2 miles in 11:29, with Tonn now third behind Julia Foster. Tonn finished fourth. Kaitlin Hanenburg, of Classical Academy CO, rallied for second. Preview: Get to know the Lambkins - SW#2 Fort Collins CO girls assistant coach Phil Latter has been chronicling the "Lambkins" season as they've battled some of the top teams in the Southwest and defended their 2008 state title.
With the Southwest regional looming this week, and a hoped-for 3rd straight berth to the NXN Finals, Latter sheds some light on the man with the plan, head coach Chris Suppes.
