After setting a national record in the 4 x Mile relay, West Windsor-Plainsboro North (Plainsboro, N.J.), came back looking to double up. Joe Rosa, Sean Reed and Tyler Corkedale combined to take the lead, but never could quite shake Albemarle (Charlottesville, Va.) and Morris Hills (Rockaway, N.J.). Jim took over the anchor leg with just a small lead over Morris Hills and Albemarle. He pushed the pace running the first 800 in 2:04.0, which was good enough to shake off Morris Hills but Albemarle, with Anthony Kostelac running the final leg, finally took the lead with 200 remaining and went on to win in 10:02.13 for the second fastest performance of all-time. Morris Hills closed with a rush to nip West Windsor-Plainsboro North for second, 10:06.06 to 10:07.44. The times rank No. 5 and 6 on the all-time list. Western Albemarle (Crozet, Va.) was fourth at 10:12.96.

Southern Regional (Manahawkin, N.J.), with Jillian Smith running a 4:44.0 anchor leg, clocked 11:41.12 to break the meet record of 11:48.68 set by Eleanor Roosevelt (Greenbelt, Md.) in 2007 and move into No. 3 on the all-time list. Shenendehowa (Clifton Park, N.Y.) led for much of the race and finished second in 11:46.05 for the seventh fastest team of all-time. Mountain Brook (Birmingham, Al.) was third at 11:51.12 and Hunterdon (Voorhees, N.J.) an early leader in the race, finishing fourth at 11:59.88. Southern Regional’s other splits were Chelsea Cox, 3:36.0; Michele Simmons, 61.0; and Erin Horleman, 2:17.0.
