Results Boys - National 55H record holder Johnny Dutch (1773) lost a solid lead when he crashed into the last hurdle and then had to survive a literal photo finish (officials replayed the video on the big screen) over Terry Prentiss CA (right) and Brendan Ames CO (red).

Boys - Johnny Dutch of Hurdles First (Clayton, N.C.) and Terry Prentice of Southern California Cheetahs (Diamond Ranch, Pomona, Ca.), two of the best hurdlers in the nation faced off with Dutch coming away with the win, 7.83 to 7.85. Dutch took a small lead out of the blocks and increased his margin when Prentice clobbered the second and third hurdles. Dutch appeared to be on his way to challenging the national lead of 7.80 before knocking down the final hurdle allowing Prentice to almost pull off the win. Brendan Ames of Colorado Flyers (Central, Cheyenne, and Wy.) was third at 7.97 and Michael Hancock of Colorado Flyers (Washington, Denver, Co.) was fourth in 7.98, to rank No. 7 and 8 on the yearly list. Wayne Davis of Hurdles First (Southeast, Raleigh, N.C.), the national sophomore record holder at 55-meter hurdles, won the B Final at 8.03.
Girls - In one of the closest races of the meet, Vashti Thomas of Cardinal T.C. (Mt. Pleasant, San Jose, Ca.) passed Lyndsay Rowe of Zyzyx/Awesome (Benjamin Cardozo, Oakland Gardens, N.Y.) in the final strides, to win, 8.381 to 8.385. Thomas and Rowe are now No. 2 and 3 on the yearly national list and rank ninth on the all-time list. Ke’Nyia Richardson of E.O.Y.D.C. (St. Elizabeth, Oakland, Ca.) was third in 8.43—a mark that ranks fourth in the nation and is equal to 15th all time. Bianca Blair (Austin East, Knoxville, Tn.) was four in 8.68 to rank ninth on the yearly list. Saleena Rashed of Metroplex (Bishop Loughlin, Brooklyn, N.Y.) won the B Final at 8.91.

Prelims Terry Prentice CA 8.13 and Lyndsay Rowe NY 8.73 Notes by Mike Kennedy Boys -Johnny Dutch of Hurdles First (Clayton, N.C.), the newly crowned national indoor record
holder in the 55 hurdles at 7.07 and Terry Prentice of Southern California Cheetahs (Diamond Ranch
(Pomona, Ca.) are the top two returning hurdlers in the nation, having run 13.54 and 13.59, respectively,
for 110 high hurdles. Running in separate heats Prentice was clocked in 8.13 and Dutch was timed in 8.14.
Neither runner can afford much of a slip as Justin Cross of Powell (Wy.) also qualified in 8.20 followed
by Brendan Ames (Central, Cheyenne, Wy.) and Michael Hancock, both running for the Colorado Flyers
(Denver), in 8.26 and 8.35 respectively. Andre’ McDonald of Park Hill (Kansas City, Mo.), a 6-8 high jumper
was the final qualifier for the A Final in 8.36. Girls - Lyndsay Rowe of Zyzyx/Awesome
(Benjamin Cardozo, Oakland Gardens, N.Y.), the nations No. 2 ranked hurdler with a mark of 7.86 for 55
meters was the leading qualifier at 8.73. Vashti Thomas of Cardinal T.C. (Mt. Pleasant, Ca.) and Bianca
Blair (Austin East, Nashville, Tn.) were the next two fastest qualifiers at 8.75 and 8.81, respectively.
Blair ranks fourth in the nation for 55 hurdles at 7.94. Ke’Nyia Richardson of E.OY.D.C. (St. Elizabeth,
Oakland, Ca.), the second fastest 60-meter hurdler in the nation at 8.48, also qualified with an 8.83.
Julian Purvis of E.O.Y.D.C. (St. Elizabeth, Oakland, Ca.) at 8,86 and Briana Stewart of James Logan
