2. Eldorado, NM

Eldorado was able to exercise some demons on Saturday when they returned to Gallup, the site of last year’s New Mexico state championship. The last time the Eagles traveled to Gallup they left disappointed as they ran poorly and lost the 5A title to the hometown Bengals. On this trip they left no doubt about who is the best team in New Mexico. Their 33 second pack time was as impressive as their 63 point victory. Julie Brasher bounced back from a sub par performance at the Albuquerque Academy Invitational to win the 20 team invitational in a blistering 18:28. She was closely followed by her teammate and Academy Invite Champion Rachel Velarde. Eldorado is now running with pack of 7 solid runners and look like a lock to win the 5A title in New Mexico as they ran 7 runners in front of Gallup’s #3.
