SO#6 Southlake Carroll girls declared 5A champs, after initial results were overturned on Monday by UIL meet jury of appeals due to a scoring error. "Southlake Carroll finished with 70 points and is the official state champion over Kingwood High School who finished with 74 points."

  • SO#1 The Woodlands boys 70, SO#5 Southlake Carroll 76, SO#2 Cedar Park 123. Heat and wind seemed to have been a factor, as some runners struggled to finish, including The Woodlands usual #1 runner Reed Connor falling in the final straightaway and fading from 5th to 34th, and Cedar Park's #1 dropping out.
  • Colby Lowe was a repeat winner in 15:11.15, followed by Cinco Ranch sr Zac Flowers in 15:36.30.
  • SO#6 Southlake Carroll girls declared 5A champs, after initial results were overturned on Monday by UIL meet jury of appeals due to a scoring error. "Southlake Carroll finished with 70 points and is the official state champion over Kingwood High School who finished with 74 points." After SO#1 Kingwood was SO#2 Cinco Ranch with 82 for 3rd and SO#5 Keller with 89, as just 19 points separated the top 4.

    Initially at the awards ceremony after Saturday's race, it was announced that Kingwood and Southlake Carroll were tied at 74, with Kingwood getting the nod on the 6th-man tie-breaker, 44-47.

PRE-MEET:

The course at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock is moderately hilly. Each race has 12 teams (top 3 from each of the 4 Region meets) plus about 20 individuals (any top 10 individuals from each Region whose team did not qualify).
