4A Boys - Wando easily won its first title by placing 3 in the top 9 and 4 in the top 14 (No. 5 runner was 44th) and scoring 76 points to runner-up Dorman's 106.  Defending champion Fort Mill was third with 111 points and was led by eighth grader Mark Blackmon who won the title after a surprising third last year as a 7th grader.  Blackmon ran 15:55 to beat Dorman's Brandon Easler (16:08) and join sister Angelina Blackmon as state champions (Angelina won state titles with Northwestern in 2000 and 2001).  His time was the third best in any class all day.

4A Girls - SE Bubble team Mauldin put 3 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 22 to easily win its third straight team title, scoring 56 points to runner-up Spartanburg's 85 points.  They had the top team average in all classes.  Individually, Northwestern senior Mary Kate DuBard easily won her first title after never earning all-state the previous two years.  She ran 18:02 to beat defending champion Alyssa Kulik of Mauldin (18:40) and clock the best time of the day.

3A Boys - Chapin's Luke Lovelace, a Foot Locker national qualifier last year, easily won his second consecutive title by running 15:10 to the 16:00 by runner-up Matthew Scanlon of J.L. Mann, which won the team title with 60 points (4 in the top 12).  Lovelace’s time was the best in all classes.  Runner-up Chapin had 75 and two-time defending champion Bluffton was fifth with 175.  J.L. Mann had the best winning average of the day at 16:39, but Chapin was actually 16:37, despite falling 15 points short.

3A Girls - Daniel beat J.L. Mann to win its third consecutive title based on its sixth runner.  Both teams had 77 points, but Daniel's sixth runner was 30th and J.L. Mann's sixth runner was 44th (J.L. Mann finished runner-up to Daniel for the third consecutive years).  Individually, Daniel freshman Sinead Haughey won her first title by beating two-time defending champion Kate Borowicz of J.L. Mann, 18:12.2 to 18:32.2.

2A Boys - Pendleton easily won its third consecutive title by beating runner-up Broome, 48-86 and placing 4 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 14.  Individually, Broome senior Stefan Shealy easily won his third consecutive title by running 15:42.  Pelion senior Shane Kyzer was second in 16:30.

1A-2A Girls - Bishop England easily won its second consecutive title scoring 35 points and placing 5 in the top 10.  Runner-up Christ Church had 114 points.  Individually, Bishop England sophomore Jeanne Stroud won in 19:25 to runner-up Kasey Wyer of Southside Christian (19:52).

1A Boys - Christ Church scored its second straight victory with 35 points, almost identical to its tally from last year (34), using its depth to prevail.  They got a much tougher battle this time; they were even with Academic Magnet through 2 runners, but pulled away with the next three.  Academic Magnet jr Allan DaPore was also a repeat winner, running 17:14 and defeating Christ Church sr Michael Brearly by 20 seconds.
