DyeStat US#1 Performances
2008-2009 Indoor Season

3/2-3/8 Notables
  • Calm before the storm With just four new national leaders, it was the lightest week since very early in the season
  • Diverse and dominating By running 9:02.58 at the New Englands, Andrew Springer RI has now held the US#1 at each distance between 1500 and 2M during the season, and is just a tenth of a second away (his loss by that margin to Mac Fleet at Reebok Boston) from currently holding each of those marks
  • Covering all the bases Emily Lipari NY's 4:32.59 1500 gave her 2 current #1s and meant she has, at one time or another (and like Springer), held each of the #1s between 1500 and 2M
  • No pressure After losing two tough 4x800 battles to rival and then-US#2 Lincoln-Sudbury MA, where they clocked US#3 times in the high 9:10s and lost by a few seconds each time, Newton South MA toed the line at the New England champs without their rivals and (as it turned out) without anyone within 25 seconds of them.  The result?  An improvement of more than a dozen seconds and a US#1 9:04.13.
4 NEW US#1s added (so far) for Mar. 2-8
